CEDAR KEYS EMPORIUM

A Coastal Cottage Shop
Home      About us

Want to know more about how

Cedar Keys Emporium and

Lookout Cottage began?

My husband , Dale, and I  had just retired from five wonderful years in England and returned to our Washington DC area home. However, after a couple of very hot summers, long trips back and forth to Gainesville, FL for football games, snowy winters and timing our trips to the grocery store around the slower traffic times - we said "LETS HEAD SOUTH!"

We compromised - on the coast for me and a short enough drive to Gator sports events for him - it was Cedar Key!  My husband's father would often take Dale to fish in Cedar Key when he was a boy.

We moved to Cedar Key August 2008 on the west side of Way Key.  Every time I saw this beautiful old historical building I just knew I would love to have a little shop downstairs. I encouraged Dale to join me and the Realtor for a tour when the building became available.  Since the price was right, we took the plunge during the worst economic times and opened Cedar Keys Emporium in February 2010. We are doing just fine for a new business and having fun running the shop.  I must thank my wonderful friends of Cedar Key who have been very supportive and encouraging.  Without their support I may have never opened this shop.  THANK YOU!

We have now begun a vacational rental  of the top two floors of the building and have called it "Lookout Cottage" .  It is two bedrooms and two baths with lots of  room  - living dining, kitchen and huge porch for pleasant views and breeze.  Check it out on the links above.
